Jigawa State Executive Council has approved the purchase of 1,650 tons of grains at the cost of over 243 Million Naira for distribution to the less privileged.
The commissioner of Information Alhaji Bala Ibrahim stated this after the Council Meeting chaired by Governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar.
He said this was part of the state government efforts to assist the less privileged in the month of Ramadan.
Alhaji Bala Ibrahim said the council has also approved the construction of Primary Healthcare centers in thirty towns at the cost of over 584 million naira.
The commissioner added that the council also approved the release of 150 Million Naira UNICEF counterpart funding for the procurement of food meant for malnourished children in the State.
The council meeting was chaired by Governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar.
