His Excellency Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje OFR the Governor of Kano State today attended the official taking over of 21 houses at Durumi Housing Estate in Abuja.
The houses which include 5 bedrooms and 3 bedrooms apartments and are worth almost 2 billion naira, were built by the Kano State Pension Fund Trustees in collaboration with Urban Shelter Limited and is aimed at enhancing a sustainable revenue into the fund’s investments portfolio and will also reduce the housing deficit in the country.
Governor Ganduje stated that so far, his administration has disbursed over 18 Billion as monthly settlement to ovet 22,000 pensioners In the state, making Kano one of the few states in the federation to be paying monthly pension to retirees promptly and as at when due.
It is also worthy to note that the Kano State Pension Funds Trustees has assets and properties in Abuja and Kano worth almost 9 Billion Naira and generate an annual revenue of over 200 Million.
The even was well attended by the Executive Secretary of Pension Transitional Directorate PTAD, Senator representing Kano North, House of Reps Chief Whip and member of Doguwa federal constituency in Kano, Kano State Head of Service, commissioners, party leaders, pensioners and other dignitaries.
